With our minimum charge of £60.00 + vat you only pay for the time our electricians are on site, no traveling charging or hidden costs!

 Terms and conditions:
1. An instruction to carry out work, whether written/verbal/online etc will be taken as acceptance of the terms and conditions detailed below. This includes emails / text messages / WhatsApp/ Facebook / Instagram etc. We always get conformation in some form before works undertaken.
2. An estimate is given as an approximate price calculated with all reasonable care by use of available and visible information obtained at the time of the quotation, it will be given where an exact price is impossible to give due to lack of information or inaccessible installations/ unforeseen items. This would be broke down per extra at a fixed price only 
3 a) A quotation is an offer to complete the work specified at the fixed price given regardless of time taken to complete. Invoice to mirror quotation for transparency 
b) Any further/ additional (extra) work/s requested by the client will be accepted via new quotation or an updated quotation as agreed by the client and Sinclair Electrical NW Limited and accepted before the extra work is undertaken 
c) This quotation assumes that works are undertaken during normal working hours between 8:30am and 17:00pm. Weekend work or out of hours work are quoted as such
d) Quotation assumes adequate parking is available this includes permits. Additional parking costs if required included in quote if listed 
e) All quotations subject to manufactures price increases beyond our control. We currently work on 7 day terms until further notice   
4. All work carries a 1 year Guarantee against defective workmanship and fundamental installation materials. Electronic equipment, luminaries, heaters and all other accessories/fixtures which carry a manufacturer’s warranty will be subject to that warranty and there own Terms and conditions. Sinclair Electrical NW Limited will accept no responsibility for defects introduced by tampering or alterations made to the electrical installation or equipment after the completion of the works. To comply with manufactures warranty may result in additional labour which is chargeable. 
4 a) Every consumer unit and some fixed equipment deemed necessary by Sinclair Electrical NW Limited will have an anti tamper seal fitted, the removal of this seal by another person/s will void any warranty issued and all further work/s are chargeable 
5. Prices do not include any charges made by the electricity supply authority (DNO) unless otherwise stated. 
6. Variations to the quote, or additional work required will be detailed by the client as soon as possible to enable an updated quotation/estimate to be agreed upon by the client and Sinclair Electrical NW Limited. Any additional work requiring a return visit to be invoiced separately as the additional may be now due   
7. Emergency work will be agreed with between the client and Sinclair Electrical NW Limited prior to work being carried out. Should urgent work be required and the client not available, Sinclair Electrical NW Limited will endeavour to carry out the work using the safest and most cost-effective solution to the client unless expressly forbidden beforehand. This work will be chargeable to the client. This may result in certain circuits being isolated until a safe and cost effective solution be found to the problem. 
8. All work will be carried out by suitably qualified engineers and will comply with all relevant and current British Standards alongside other applicable regulations. 
9. Some items as listed will mention ‘made good’ by Sinclair Electrical NW Limited; this is limited to re-fitment of floor boarding and carpets if practical and agreed in writing but does not include plastering / filling unless stated in the estimate/quotation or redecoration as listed on quotation. Damaged flooring / floorboards will not be replaced if originally damaged or in a poor condition. Any reinstatement requested will be invoiced accordingly 
9 a) Due to the nature of works disturbance to the building fabric is unavoidable we endeavour to keep disturbance to an absolute minimum but when this is simply not possible Sinclair Electrical Nw Limited unless stated have not allowed for plasterers / decorators / cleaners to follow works in some cases this can be provided but will require an additional quotation to be agreed  
10. All electrical materials and accessories will remain the property of Sinclair Electrical NW Limited until final payment is received. 
11.Equipment and accessories supplied by the client. Sinclair Electrical NW Limited reserves the right to refuse to fit sub-standard, non-compliant accessories or equipment supplied by the client. Quotes and estimates tendered by the company are based on the fitting of standard electrical accessories. Accessories that require excessive preparation, modification or non-standard fitment may incur extra cost to the client. Any additional work needed after completion due to faulty materials (supplied by the client) will be charged directly to the client. 
12. Whilst undertaking testing works and periodic inspections, it is the responsibility of the client to disconnect from the mains any sensitive equipment which will be damaged by high voltages, this may include computers, telephones, charging equipment and kitchen appliances. You must inform Sinclair Electrical NW Limited if you suspect that any PIR outside lighting equipment may be connected to the socket ring main circuits. Sinclair Electrical NW Limited never put any belongings / equipment as risk if items such as televisions, computers or furniture need moving these will require moving by the home owner / tenant as Sinclair Electrical Nw Limited have no liability for such items  
13. Billing. Payment is always due on completion of works as listed on the invoice / quote / estimate, All works have a payment plan to adhere too at all times.  
13 a) We have never had any issues with late payments but for transparency these are handled by an external legal representative at the connivence of Sinclair Electrical NW Limited 
13 b) We can charge interest if you pay late. 
If you do not make any payment to us by the due date we may charge interest to you on the overdue amount at the rate of 2% a year above the base lending rate of Barclays Bank PLC from time to time. This interest shall accrue on a daily basis from the due date until the date of actual payment of the overdue amount, whether before or after judgment. You must pay us interest together with any overdue amount. 
 13 c) What to do if you think an invoice is wrong. 
 If you think an invoice is wrong, please contact us promptly to let us know and we will not charge you interest until we have resolved the issue. 
14. Waste removal. Unless stated for or agreed in a quotation waste of any kind will not be removed once they work is completed. An extra cost will be occurred if Sinclair Electrical NW Limited are instructed by the customer to remove the waste at any point front start to finish of the agreed works. 
15. Complaints. In the unlikely event of dissatisfaction complaints can be emailed to sinclairelectrical@live.co.uk  
16. Sinclair Electrical NW Limited are not responsible for any materials onsite that maybe stolen or removed at any point through the installation due to the site / works address NOT being secured for any reason. Sinclair Electrical NW Limited liability tradesman’s insurance will not cover any losses due to this condition 
17. Sinclair Electrical NW Limited can not be held liable for damage / losses due to poor workmanship by other contractors from any trades at any time. This includes all trades. 
18. Quotations are valid from 7 days from issue, this can be extended in some cases depending on variants involved. This is confirmed on a quotation  
19. Payments. All payments payable via Bank transfer, card or cash, in agreed circumstances cheques are accepted  
20. Deposits. In some cases Sinclair Electrical NW Limited will require a deposit. A 'Deposit' is taken to order parts that are non returnable or carry a 'handling charge' the deposit is fully refundable in the event of the works being cancelled within a reasonable time frame, where there are costs to Sinclair Electrical NW Limited these would be deducted and itemised for transparency  
20a. Stage payments- We endeavour to keep stage payments as transparent as possible, where a stage payment ( Payment 1) is required pre starting the works this is to ensure work begins sourcing / collecting / ordering parts. Once the works have started the payment is non refundable. Stage payments once work has started is also non refundable
21. A 'secure the date' payment is taken to secure the services of an engineer/s for the specific time / date agreed for the works to be completed. This is non refundable.
 If there is no access to the property this payment would be chargeable again for the next agreed date resulting in an increase to quoted works which would have to be re issued for transparency. On cancellations there is no refund as the engineer/s time is allocated for the job
21a. 'Booking Fee' payment is taken to book a specific agreed date and time in to the diary / work schedule of Sinclair Electrical Nw Limited also an instruction to begin working on planning / designing / organising, sourcing / purchasing materials. This payment is Non refundable 
22b. Dates / timescales provided by Sinclair Electrical Nw Limited are estimates and we shall use of all reasonable endeavours that these are met. We accept no liability for delayed completion / failed attendance or late attendance due to items out of our control
22c. Sinclair Electrical NW Limited shall not be required to issue or deliver any certification, guarantees or other similar documents regarding works until payment has been made in full
22. Cancellations on rental properties. As per (21.) non returnable or ordered in materials will incur a handling charge of 20% inherited from suppliers a deducted from the deposit. On cancellations within 48 hours the labour charge for the engineer/s time is chargeable . This will be dependant on the situation, Sinclair Electrical NW Limited will be as accommodating as possible and only charge for losses incurred. In some circumstances it may now not be viable to complete the works. 
23. Instruction for works. Where works are ordered from Sinclair Electrical NW Limited via an agent, unless clearly agreed in writing payment is due on completion when the invoice will be generated and issued  
24. Temporary power. On some domestic site where power will be removed for large works such as Rewires temporary power will be installed this is covered by site specific terms and conditions issues for each project. Ensuring safety throughout. Each subject to site survey / agreed works   
25. Site specific disclaimers / additional terms and conditions are issued with each project where applicable and may be highlighted on quotes / estimates for transparency  
26. All costs unless stated are plus VAT at the current rate. Full receipts issued with all works  
27. Sinclair Electrical Nw Limited endeavour to make sure all our work / costs are transparent and do list everything included in all works allowed for on quotations, any queries need to be addressed before works have commenced. Our work force are booked to meet critical time scales so in some cases we cannot complete extra work on the same visit or variations to works are not feasible at this time  
28. Snagging- in the unlikely event of 'snags' if within the scope of our works we will make good whilst on site or on a return visit subject to completion status. Any issues found to be the result of other trades or items out are control then the visit will be chargeable on a time + materials basis.
29. Minimum charge- We do not charge for call outs customers only pay for the time our engineers are on site. We do have a minimum charge of £60.00 for the first hour on site 
30. Hourly rate in the event of charging per hour unless alternative prices have been issued the standard hourly rate for 1 x electrician is £45.00 per hour, charged in 30min slots after the minimum charge is applied  
31. All costs services / goods provided / quoted are + VAT this will be clearly stated 
32. EICR certificates are invoiced on completion of on site testing and certificates issued once payment has been received. Often EICR’s payments are taken upon booking for smaller projects not requiring a booking fee
33. As per item 32 some smaller projects are invoiced upon booking to reduce admin time/cost keeping the costs down for our clients
